Notes:

1. Submission: Unlike traditional methods of requiring interested persons to compose their abstracts according to the guidelines and submit a Word or PDF document, HMC ZARIA 2024 has automated the composition and submission of abstracts. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Go to the conferences website at https://conferences.abu.edu.ng
  2. Click [Abstracts] from the main menu, fill the details, and click CONTINUE. Your payment slip will be generated, which must be paid online.
  3. Complete the payment of abstract processing fee (₦3,000.00 only) online and return to compose and submit your abstract.
  4. The website guides you to type the various components for the abstract according to the structure specified above.
  5. You will be able to see live preview of the abstract as you are composing it and make adjustments as necessary.
  6. Submit when done. A unique Abstract Ref. ID will be generated and sent to your registered e-mail address for future references.

2. Presentations: All presentations will be done using PowerPoint presentation slides. Authors are therefore encouraged to prepare and come along with their presentation slides in a virus-free flash drive.

3. Oral or Poster: The organizers expect that there will be more abstracts submitted with preference for oral presentation than can be accommodated in the programme. Consequently, you are not guaranteed an oral presentation even if you indicate a preference for oral in your abstract submission. However, all abstracts will be adjudicated for inclusion in either the oral or poster presentation formats. If you are not selected for an oral presentation you may be offered a poster. Research that has been completed will be given priority for oral presentations. Please note that reasonable time for discussion of posters will be built into the conference schedule.

4. Poster Size: Presentations selected for poster should be prepared on posters measuring 36 by 48 inches (around 90 by 120 cm) in dimension. Poster orientation should be portrait.

5. Formal Acceptance: You will receive an automated notification of acceptance if your submission is accepted after the review process. But if you need to receive a formal acceptance of your abstract in order to be funded to come to the conference, please write to us and let us know about this. You may please [contact us here].

6. Final Notes: Abstracts that do not meet our requirements will not be honoured. The organizing committee reserves the right to edit abstracts for clarity or correctness of English, but will consult the author if any significant changes are needed.
